  • Tanokuchi god of Sai Festival

    A traditional event dedicated to the god of Sai. Residents weave large zori or sandlas, then wrap them around trees asking for sound health. The god of Sai is a god that prevents invasions of demons. It is said that he protected the area from misery and protected people’s feet.
    This festival is usually from 8 AM to noon and is at Tanokuchi, Hidaka-cho, Toyooka.

  • Evening Elder’s Festival

    This festival goes from the evning of Jan 9th to the 10th, the main festival is on the 10th. It is a festival where people pray for good luck, business prosperity, home safety, and economical recovery.
    This festival happens at NIshimiya Shrine in Yoida, HIdaka-cho, Toyooka

  • Kannabe Winter Mountain Opening

    Prayers are offered up at a ceremony for the safety of skiers, snowboarders, and visitors to the mountain.
    The ceremony usually starts at about 9:30 AM and is performed at Oku-Kannabe Ski Resort.

  • Ase Valley Autumn Festival

    An autumn festival held in honer of Ase Valley’s beautiful autumnal leaves. Walk through the forests while enjoying the fall foliage. There are usually various bazaars to enjoy too.
    Held in Ase Valley in Hagetsuchi, HIdaka-cho, Toyooka from 9 AM to 3 PM.

  • Kannabe Valcano

    A festival held at the base of Kannabe’s volcano. There will be fireworks in the evening, dance performances, many delicious food stalls and prize drawings.
    From noon to 8:30 PM at behind Kannabe’s rest area and Yutorogi Onsen.

  • Hidaka Summer Festival

    The local town festival with a parade, fireworks, stage events, bazaars, food stalls and beer garden.
    Held near JR Ebara Station from 4 PM to 9 PM.

  • World Geopark Trail Run

    Runners run along a nature mountain trail in the highlands of Kannabe. The course will take them down the mountain to Naomi Uemura Memorial Park, Up Kannabe. There are three main courses of 58km, 40km, and 10km.
    The race starts in Kannabe from about 7 AM

  • Tajima Dome Festival

    Inside Kannabe’s large all weather dome will be a flea market, performance competition, lots of local restaurants with food stalls, and more.
    It is free entrance for everyone.
    Event is located at Tajima Dome and is from 10 AM to 4 PM.
