Summer season is usually from mid June to the beginning of September and winter from December to the beginning of March. Average snowfall differs year-to-year and so does the time when the first and last snow falls.<br \/>\nIn the summer, Kannabe tends to be warm during the day and has a nice cool down at night. Summers are also known to be very humid and winters dry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"useful_li\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-438\" src=\"https:\/\/hidaka.kannabe.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ico_use_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"189\" height=\"149\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"icon\">Elevation: 470m<br \/>\nGeography type: Highlands<\/p>\n<p>Located in Hidaka Town, Toyooka City in northern Hyogo Prefecture, Kannabe highlands are a designated area of the San\u2019in Coast Geopark and Hiruzenyama Maeyama Nahiyama Quasi-National Park. The terrain consists of a basaltic lava flow, a scoria hill created by volcanic activity about 20,000 years ago. The crater on Kanbetsu, left after eruption is about 750m in circumference and 40m in depth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"useful_li\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-439\" src=\"https:\/\/hidaka.kannabe.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ico_use_3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"184\" height=\"134\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The highlands and mountains of Kannabe are the home to a wide range of wild life. We ask you to respect all the fauna and flora.<br \/>\nDepending on the season and where in Kannabe you are you may see deer, foxes, tanuki, kites, hawks and more. On the rare occasion you may also come across a wild boar or bear, but it is best to avoid these larger inhabitants by carrying a bear bell on you when you hike.<br \/>\nWe also have several bugs that like to taste test our visitors such as mosquito, black fly, mountain leech and more. We suggest protecting yourself from these peskier ones by using bug repellent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"useful_li\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-436\" src=\"https:\/\/hidaka.kannabe.info\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/ico_use_4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"125\" \/><\/div>\n<p>What you pack will depend on the season. While looking nice is fun it is best to dress for comfort and well being first. If you are planning on hiking into the woods on un-maintained trails best to have sturdy foot wear that is water resistant and clothes that can cover most of your skin. The summer can be hot and muggy; clothes that breathe and dry easily are best. While, in the winter temperatures can easily drop below freezing and snows can pile up pretty high. Best to layer warm clothes such as fleece or wool and waterproof outer layers as well as waterproof foot wear. Hats and gloves are also a must.
